Energy Transfer Notes
Energy can be stored in different ways. Moving objects have kinetic energy, hot objects have thermal energy, and food or fuel has chemical energy. Energy moves when something changes.
Short class notes on energy stores, transfers, and simple energy diagrams.
Diagram 1 -- Torch Energy Transfer
Shows chemical energy in the battery being transferred to light and thermal energy.
Diagram 2 -- Falling Ball
Shows gravitational energy decreasing while kinetic energy increases.
Table 1 -- Energy Stores
Defines kinetic, thermal, chemical, elastic, and gravitational energy stores.
These notes are useful for revision. The main idea is that energy is transferred, not destroyed. A good answer should name the starting energy store, describe the useful transfer, and say where the wasted energy goes.
